A former St John cadet turned professional paramedic, Andy has become a respected leader, mentor, and frontline responder, contributing to major incident planning, marine rescue, and healthcare support across the Bailiwick. Recognised as an Officer of the Order of St John, Andy continues to serve with unwavering dedication, embodying the values of compassion, teamwork, and service to humanity.

    A new Blue Plaque has been unveiled and Guernsey’s ambulance headquarters renamed ‘Blanchford House’ in honour of Reginald Blanchford, the visionary founder of the St John Ambulance and Rescue Service. Marking his pioneering contributions to emergency medical care in the Bailiwick, the ceremony on St John Day (24 June) brought together dignitaries, family, and former colleagues to celebrate his enduring legacy.
