St John Ambulance Ghana was established in 1937 by the British Police and operates under the subvention of the Ministry of Health (MOH). It is authorised to provide First Aid training and Ambulance services throughout. 

 

St John Ambulance has since been working as an Emergency Medical Service (EMS) provider in the area of First Aid Services, Care, Ambulance Services and Community Health and Youth Development. 

 

Services

First Aid

St John first aiders and volunteers participate in a range of public events in order to offer first aid where it is required for participants and spectators alike.

 

These events include: 

  • National Day celebrations
  • Athletics and Soccer (league, local & international matches)
  • Cycling Competition
  • Milo Marathon Races
  • The monthly Health Walk organized by Ghana Health Service.
  • Home-based Care for the sick, the elderlies and people with mobility problems needing help.

 

First Aid Training 

First Aid Training has been the most significant part of the work of St John Ambulance Ghana. They provide a range of international standard courses for the public and for specific sections of the community.
