Earthquake in Turkey and Syria

A message from our Lord Prior Prof Mark Compton

“The horror of the earthquake in Syria and Turkey has shocked us all.

We have seen terrible images reflecting the thousands dead, many more injured and homeless, and the winter’s cold making the suffering of those affected even harsher.

St John is not present in either country, but the humanitarian arms of our sister organisations, the Sovereign Order of Malta and the Johanniter, are on the ground working with their local partners to provide help.

If, like me, you want to help and offer more than prayers, you might want to contribute to either the Malteser International or Johanniter International Assistance efforts. Other organisations in your countries will also be sending much needed rescue and relief to the suffering.

With my very best wishes to the whole St John family”

Prof Mark Compton
