St John International proudly announces the appointment of Dr Michel C. Doré as its new Sub-Prior. A distinguished leader in prehospital care, emergency management, and public health, Dr Doré brings over 40 years of experience and a deep commitment to humanitarian service. A long-time member of the Order and former Chair of the Québec Council of the Priory of Canada, he now steps into this international role with a strong vision for global impact. The Order warmly welcomes Dr Doré and looks forward to his leadership in advancing its mission of care, compassion, and community resilience worldwide.

After nine years of dedicated service, the Right Reverend Tim Stevens will step down as Prelate of the Order of St John on St John’s Day 2025. Throughout his tenure, Tim has brought wisdom, compassion, and spiritual guidance to the Order, championing diversity, inclusion, and the deep connection between faith and service. His leadership has been marked by humility and integrity, leaving a lasting legacy that continues to inspire. We thank Tim for his invaluable contribution and unwavering commitment to the Order’s mission.

Dr Steve Evans has served the Order of St John with distinction, compassion, and visionary leadership for nearly four decades. From his beginnings with Hato Hone St John in 1985 to his impactful tenure as Sub-Prior since 2022, Steve has championed growth, supported communities and strengthened governance across the global St John network. As he steps down, we honour his enduring contributions and lasting legacy of service.

As we follow with concern the terrible events in the Middle East and the impact on our friends and colleagues in the Eye Hospital Group in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza, we are working closely with the St John Eye Hospital Group to share the latest information about the crisis, and its influence on our expert eye-care services.

The refurbished Lae Ambulance Station, opened in May 2025, upgrades emergency services in Morobe Province with modern facilities. Since 2022, it has seen growing demand and plays a key role in community healthcare, supported by the PNG-Australia Policing Partnership.
