As we follow with concern the terrible events in the Middle East and the impact on our friends and colleagues in the Eye Hospital Group in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza, we are working closely with the St John Eye Hospital Group to share the latest information about the crisis, and its influence on our expert eye-care services.

The refurbished Lae Ambulance Station, opened in May 2025, upgrades emergency services in Morobe Province with modern facilities. Since 2022, it has seen growing demand and plays a key role in community healthcare, supported by the PNG-Australia Policing Partnership.

On 14 May, the Order of St John held a ceremonial service at St John’s Gate, featuring the dedication of a new Great Banner, the Investiture of Postulants, and an Order Vote of Thanks. Honours were awarded for exceptional service, including to Roger Willoughby and John Wilson for their book preserving the legacy of the Order’s lifesaving medal recipients.

Guernsey’s Flying Christine III marine ambulance is back in service after a major refit, extending its 30-year legacy. Operated by St John Ambulance and Rescue Service, the vessel offers vital emergency care between the Channel Islands. Upgrades improve patient care, safety, and equipment, with continued support from donations and sponsors.

On Friday 25 April 2025, as the nation united to commemorate ANZAC Day, we also honoured the remarkable legacy of St John volunteers—both in Australia and Papua New Guinea. For over a century, these courageous individuals have delivered vital humanitarian and medical support during times of war and crisis, standing shoulder to shoulder with service personnel in some of the most challenging conditions.

St John Cyprus was honored to support the European Throwing Cup 2025, Europe’s leading event for throwing sports. Featuring elite athletes from across the continent competing in shot put, discus, hammer throw, and javelin, the event was a showcase of incredible skill and fierce competition. St John Cyprus provided essential first aid services, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants throughout this thrilling, high-performance event.
