    When Helena Mercer, a nurse, St John Gibraltar volunteer and a St John Global Leadership Development Programme (GLDP) graduate, took herself to Ghana this October, it wasn’t just a visit — it was a collaboration. For three weeks, Helena and Emmanuel Arko-Larbi, PMP® CMT® (also a GLDP graduate) worked side by side to bring the spirit of #OneStJohn to life, blending cultures, ideas, and practical skills in a way that showed what global service really means.

  • Americas Master Training: March 2026

    From March 12–14, St. John Ambulance Canada hosted the inaugural Master Training Event for the Americas region in Toronto. Delegates from across the Caribbean received advanced first aid and instructor training, enabling them to train others in their communities and strengthen first aid capacity across the region.

  • Leading with Purpose in Remote Operations: Elyse Taylor-Jackson

    Elyse Taylor-Jackson, Duty Manager Southern Operations in Alice Springs, has made a strong impact during her three years with St John Northern Territory. Drawing on her frontline experience, she stepped into leadership to better support crews, improve systems, and foster a positive team culture. Her leadership, particularly during high-pressure periods, has contributed to improved morale, reliable service delivery, and better patient outcomes in a challenging remote environment.

  • Supporting Volunteers and Life-Saving Services: Lisa Dove

    Lisa Dove has spent over four years with St John Scotland, supporting volunteers and essential services including public access defibrillators, Community First Response, and patient transport. She takes pride in seeing lives saved through PADs, strengthening patient transport across Scotland, and fostering connections between volunteers and the communities they serve. Lisa also represents St John Scotland externally, advocating for its volunteers and the vital impact of their work.

  • Championing Safety and Wellbeing: Melanie Davis,

    Melanie Davis, Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager at St John Ambulance Victoria, transforms workplace safety and wellbeing. She champions proactive risk management, mentors future leaders, and fosters safe, inclusive environments for staff, volunteers, and the community. Outside work, she’s a single mother, Melbourne Storm fan, and Disaster Relief Australia volunteer.

  • 33 Years of Inspiring Youth Through Service: Makaylia Ravlich:

    Makaylia Ravlich has volunteered with St John NT for 33 years and currently serves as the Youth Volunteer Territory Officer. Since joining in 1993, she has supported the development of young people through leadership, mentoring, and first-aid education. She is passionate about helping youth build confidence, leadership skills and the capability to make a positive impact in their communities.

  • In Memoriam: Major (Ret.) Ian Crowther MBE GCStJ

    Major (Ret.) Ian Crowther, a beloved leader within the Order of St John in South Africa and a man whose life embodied service, humour, and quiet dignity, passed away peacefully in Johannesburg at the age of 89.

  • Driving Financial Excellence and Service: Kimberley Gounden

    Kimberley Gounden, CA(SA), joined Order of St John South Africa in 2023 as Financial Manager and was promoted to CFO in 2024. She played a key role in achieving the organization’s first clean audit, strengthening financial controls and governance. A dedicated Member of the Order of St John South Africa, Kimberley is also committed to community service and youth development, reflecting a blend of professional excellence and servant leadership.
