Happy Chinese New Year. As celebrations begin across Malaysia and Hong Kong for the Year of the Fire Horse, St John Ambulance of Malaysia (SJAM) and Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Brigade are on duty to keep communities safe. From emergency ambulance standby services to blood donation programmes, our volunteers are providing support throughout the festive period to ensure a joyful, healthy, and secure Chinese New Year for all.

The Guernsey Ambulance and Rescue Awards 2025 celebrated the dedication, skill and compassion of the island’s ambulance teams. Recognising exceptional service across clinical care, emergency response and community support, the awards highlighted the vital role staff and volunteers play in keeping the Bailiwick safe and well.

We’re delighted to introduce Nicky Wynne, who joined St John International as Fundraising Director in September 2025. With more than 30 years of experience in international fundraising. Nicky brings both expertise and passion to the role. In this short Q&A, she shares her background, what drew her back to St John, and her vision for building a strong, collaborative fundraising future for our global family.

St John Ambulance Malaysia (SJAM) carried out a cross-border medical mission to Hatyai, Thailand, from 26–29 November 2025, providing essential healthcare to flood-affected residents and rescue personnel. Coordinated with the Royal Thai Embassy and local partners, the team treated over 120 patients, managed flood-related and chronic conditions, and referred critical cases to hospitals, demonstrating SJAM’s commitment to humanitarian aid and regional cooperation.

Port Moresby, 20 January 2026 – The National St John Ambulance Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Kai Tane as the new Chief Executive of National St John Ambulance.

St John Ambulance and Rescue volunteers supported the Civil Protection Department during Storm Harry, providing emergency response services under challenging conditions. Their dedication and teamwork ensured a coordinated operation, highlighting the vital role of volunteers in protecting the community.
