Breaking Barriers in Emergency Medical Services: Patience M Abinael

Patience M Abinael has proudly served with St John Zimbabwe in the Emergency Medical Service for eight years, beginning her journey in 2018. Her career in emergency care was sparked by a deeply personal experience: witnessing a loved one receive life-saving treatment. This moment ignited her desire to help others and inspired her commitment to saving lives and making a meaningful impact in critical situations.

 

As an Ambulance Technician (AT), Patience delivers immediate medical assistance, transports patients, and ensures they receive the highest standard of care during emergencies. Her role requires resilience, skill, and compassion, particularly in high-pressure environments where every decision can make a difference.

Her dedication and perseverance have allowed her to break barriers, challenge stereotypes, and demonstrate that women can excel in high-stress medical roles. Beyond improving patient outcomes, her work is reshaping perceptions of women’s capabilities in emergency services.
