Americas Master Training: March 2026

From March 12–14, St. John Ambulance Canada hosted the inaugural Master Training Event for the Americas region. Held in Toronto, the event brought together delegates from St John Associations across the Caribbean for an intensive three-day training workshop. With the support of St John International, this initiative was designed to strengthen first aid capacity by equipping participants with advanced first aid skills and instructional techniques.

Delegates from Antigua, Barbados, Bermuda, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, St. Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago participated, alongside leaders from Canada and St John International. The training focused on preparing participants to train and certify others in their communities, amplifying the reach of lifesaving skills across the region.

This approach creates a powerful multiplier effect: by strengthening instructors’ expertise today, more people can be equipped with lifesaving skills tomorrow. Each Association benefits from increased training capacity, sustainable programme growth, and greater community impact.

Hosting the event in Canada also gave delegates the chance to experience a different St. John Ambulance facility and gain insight into the breadth of the international network. Highlights included Canada’s Therapy Dog programme and St John International’s efforts to develop shared resources for global use.

St. John Ambulance Canada was proud to host this important initiative and grateful to the delegates whose enthusiasm and commitment made the training a success. Bringing participants together from across the Americas to share knowledge, experiences, and ideas reinforces the strength of the St John network and its shared commitment to improving community health and safety worldwide.

The long-term impact of this initiative will be seen as delegates return home and continue to expand access to high-quality first aid training throughout the Americas region.
