Supporting Volunteers and Life-Saving Services: Lisa Dove

Lisa Dove has dedicated the past four and a half years to St John Scotland, playing a vital role in volunteer development and service delivery. In her position, Lisa works closely with teams across public access defibrillators (PADs), Community First Response, and patient transport, ensuring these essential services continue to support communities throughout Scotland.

One of Lisa’s proudest achievements has been witnessing the growth of the PAD scheme and understanding the real-life impact it has. Hearing stories of lives saved by defibrillators installed by St John Scotland brings home the importance of her work, making her role tangible and deeply meaningful. For Lisa, knowing these devices have changed someone’s future reinforces her motivation every day.

Lisa also plays a key role in supporting the patient transport service, working alongside volunteers who help individuals attend critical hospital appointments. She values the friendships and bonds that develop between volunteers and patients, recognising the profound difference this service makes to people’s lives. Supporting the expansion of patient transport across Scotland has allowed her to collaborate with dedicated volunteers and build lasting connections within the community.

In addition to her service delivery work, Lisa is proud to represent St John Scotland at external events, sharing the organisation’s achievements with other third-sector organisations. Being an advocate for St John Scotland and the incredible work of its volunteers is a source of great pride and motivation, highlighting the positive impact volunteers have across Scotland every day.
