St John wishes everyone a happy, healthy, and safe celebration. May this festive season be filled with joy, togetherness, and prosperity.
During this time of celebration, volunteers from St John Ambulance of Malaysia (SJAM) and Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Brigade will be on duty to provide support and care across communities. From emergency ambulance standby services to blood donation programmes, we remain committed to keeping everyone safe and ensuring help is always within reach.
SJAM – Chinese New Year Service Highlights
Emergency Ambulance Standby Service
To support travelers during the festive peak, SJAM volunteers will be on standby at key locations:
-
Session 1: 14–15 February 2026 (Saturday and Sunday)
-
Session 2: 21–22 February 2026 (Saturday and Sunday)
In partnership with the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP), Ministry of Transport, Fire and Rescue Department, and highway concessionaires, around 900 volunteers will be deployed at 30 key locations, including accident-prone areas and hospitals, supporting an estimated 2.2 million vehicles traveling during peak days.
Blood Donation Programme
With the festive season coinciding with the start of the Muslim fasting month on 18 February, blood supply may be limited. Malaysia requires 2,000 bags of blood daily, and SJAM Blood Donation Suites will remain open throughout the holidays. SJAM encourage all volunteers and supporters to donate and help save lives.
Hong Kong – First Aid Standby
Hong Kong St. John Ambulance Brigade volunteers will be on first aid standby throughout the Chinese New Year period. Details and photos from post Chinese New Year celebration events will be included in a follow-up article.
