Americas

The 21st century has brought new opportunities and challenges for the health of the populations in America, Canada and in the Caribbean regions.

The Caribbean island states are classified as vulnerable due to the effects of climate change and natural disasters such as tropical storms.

St John work in the Americas ranges from:

  • delivering vital first aid training and disaster preparedness in the Caribbean,
  • volunteer corps supporting military veterans in activities like the wheelchair regatta in the USA,
  • highly innovative therapy dog programmes in Canada.
