Today is World Health Day, a global health awareness day that is celebrated every year on April 7. This year marks 75 years since countries of the world came together and founded the World Health Organisation (WHO) to promote better health and keep the world’s most vulnerable people safe.

Health for all is the theme for this year. In everything St John does, everywhere we work, making our services available to everyone to enhance their health and well-being is at the heart of our operations.

On this World Health Day, we honour and celebrate the contribution of our highly trained health workforce, both volunteers and staff. Their effort in 2022 trained 1.1 million people in first aid and provided 1.8 million people with clinical medical assistance through our ambulance services or community support programmes.

To say thank you to these heroes, Mali, a National Cadet of the Year from St John Cymru, recorded a special video message.
